This was an excellent growing season in Central Hawkes Bay with warm weather and perfect ripening conditions, similar to 2007. This wine has matured in the bottle since 2014 and the tannins are integrating with the fruit, building structure and texture.
Generous spice, red berries, rhubarb and earth, with a tight herbal thread, are part of the layers that work in tandem. This Pinot has freshness, delicacy, poise and unique chalkiness. Has great acid balance and structure to last for many years.
